Priorities for our Community

Workforce Housing

I serve on the Anacortes Housing Authority, which has been around since 1968. They are the largest housing provider on the island, with over 190 units in multiple locations. I have also organized stakeholders and coordinated bill development for the recent Multi-Family Tax Exemption bill that passed in 2021.

Natural Preservation

The City should continue to brighten up spaces & mitigate the heat island effect with more pocket parks and community gardens. I’ve been volunteering with Transition Fidalgo in the Community Garden by the middle school, and we distribute the produce grown there across three Share the Bounty boxes in town.

Living Locally

I spent four years at the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce, and lead a team over multiple months in a rebranding process to showcase Anacortes as a getaway instead of a gateway. I brought together the Dept of Health, State Legislators, and leadership at Island Hospital to address vaccine allocations in early 2021.
